Some time ago I created a series of illustrated postcards with Romanian proverbs and sayings. It all started from a dedication of love
1000 să te cunoască
100 să te deorească
10 să te vrea
1 să te ia
1000 să te cunoască
100 să te deorească
10 să te vrea
1 să te ia
The project started from old thoughts around Romanian proverbs. Noting the lump of truth contained in a few words, we want to put on paper ideas about the synthesis with which the traditional spirit was concerned. This spirit interests us especially in the context of urban life where tradition slips into the museum space. Work on malleable recovery and preservation through reinterpretation of tradition leads to the development of a relevant and appealing language at this stage. It is the formula to get closer to the intangible heritage, which is the focus of the collection.
In this sense, the project is a form of recovery of the traditional linguistic layer essential to be preserved in the process of transforming expressiveness.
This substrate is the bridge to the area of wisdom of a people. Words and phrases lost throughout the transformations of a language are descriptive of the society that spoke them. We want to mark the remaining gap, by filling it and recovering it in the meaning of the new generation.

Four years later I've been adding incoming thoughts, for friends, enemies, or other purposes galore. I want to keep expanding the collection so that it becomes collectible and forms a whole in the distant future.
